At Sanya Sativa Seeds, we’re passionate about empowering growers with top-quality cannabis seeds and expert cultivation advice. Whether you’re just starting or a seasoned pro, our mission is to help you grow with confidence and success!
It all started back in 1997 in Nijmegen, Holland—though my first encounter with cannabis was much earlier, at the age of 14. That early fascination led to some run-ins with the law, but by 1997, I had left Germany behind and moved to Holland, where I could freely explore my passion. For the next 20 years, I didn’t set foot in Germany.
In Nijmegen, I rented a small house in the Wilhelm Quarter, where I spent countless hours sitting outside or in my garden with a joint—or, back then, a bong. One day, my neighbor approached me, curious about what I was smoking, and told me I should fix my filter because he could smell it. Panicked, I agreed, but he calmed me down and invited me over. To my surprise, I found myself standing in what could only be described as Haze Paradise, and my neighbor turned out to be none other than Nevil Schoenmakers, the Godfather of Haze.
A friendship formed, and I learned a lot from Nevil in the short time we spent together, especially about guerrilla growing on a small scale. The Dutch have always been pioneers in this field, and I soaked up as much knowledge as I could. In 2001, I moved to Limburg, where I met Leon, the owner of a coffee shop in Geleen. With my growing experience and Leon’s connections, I went on to win the High Life Cup in 2007/2008 for the Genesis Coffeeshop in Geleen. From there, the story only grew bigger.
In 2009, after the birth of my son, Syl Billy Dean, I decided to step back from the world of illegal growing and guerrilla cultivation, focusing instead on tattooing. Then came the pandemic, and with the birth of my daughter, Sanya Sativa Taylor, I found myself returning to cannabis cultivation as we entered a new era of legalization.
On December 29, 2021, my journey took another turn when customs raided my home in Germany. For the first time in my life, I encountered a judge who understood where things were headed and showed unexpected leniency. Today, I owe much of my foundational knowledge to Nevil, but my skills have been honed by the de Lepper family, the creators of the legendary Hy Pro Cut Amnesia—now known as SuperStrains. Bertus, Maria, and Lia de Lepper have become some of my closest friends, and without them, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
And now, we welcome you to Sanya Sativa Seeds! This is more than just a seed shop—it’s the culmination of a lifelong passion for cannabis, shaped by pioneers and legends. We’re here to share that legacy with you!
